Title

A man was trapped in his home as floodwaters began to rise all around him. Moving to the second floor he prayed fervently for the Lord to save him. A fire department rescue boat soon appeared and told the man to jump in. "No", he said. "The Lord will save me". The boat drove away.

As the waters continued to rise the man moved out onto the roof of his home and soon a helicopter hovered overhead. Dropping a rope they shouted at the man to grab it and he said, "No, thanks, the Lord will save me". The helicopter flew away.

Finally, the onrush was too much for the man's home to withstand. The structure was swept away in the flood and the man drowned.

When he reached Heaven, he found himself standing before the Lord, and he asked him "Lord, I prayed to you to save me. Why did you let me die?" The Lord replied, "Well, I sent you a boat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?"
